Lovina & Singaraja Overnight Tour

From Ubud we head north to cooler temperatures for a refreshing walk through the serene Botanical Gardens in Bedugul. The tropical scenery allows you to relax whilst learning about the use of plants in the daily lives of Balinese people, as well the many interesting tropical rainforest plants and bird life. The next stop is the beautiful water temple, Pura Ulun Danu, dedicated to the goddess of water. As would be expected, the temple is surrounded by placid Lake Beratan, so is one of Bali’s most picture perfect spots for a memorable photo. After the chilly mountains, we descend to the Banjar Hot Springs to refresh and warm up in one of their three therapeutic hot pools. We end the day in Lovina with its black volcanic sand beach and awe-inspiring sunsets.  You have a wide choice of accommodation and places to shop, dine and drink after your day’s journey.

Early morning presents the opportunity to view dolphins first-hand on a traditional boat.  There is no guarantee that dolphins will be sighted, but being on the calm water at sunrise is an experience in itself.

After breakfast you have several options.  If the sea continues to beckon, a snorkeling expedition provides close-up views of coral beds and brightly-colored tropical fish.  Afterwords, we explore Singaraja, the old harbour town and former Dutch administrative center. Outside this quaint city, we visit Benji Temple which is dedicated to the rice goddess, Dewi Sri.

However, if you are up for  something more active, you can  jungle trek in the mountain retreat village of Munduk. There are several treks which vary by level of difficulty, yet all offer stunning rice fields views, numerous waterfalls and tropical jungle foliage.
